Pro Features & Webhooks

Guide to GatewayKit Pro: Stripe subscriptions, discount codes, deposit payments, dashboard refunds, outgoing webhooks, and white-labeling.

GatewayKit Pro expands the free plugin with recurring subscriptions, promotional discount coupons, partial deposit payments, outgoing automation webhooks, and white-label branding.

Discount Codes & Coupons Pro

Manage promotional discounts under GatewayKit → Discounts. Coupons can be fixed dollar amounts or percentage discounts with optional minimum order amounts and global or per-user limits.

Race-Safe Discount Lifecycle

GatewayKit uses atomic SQL reservation queries to guarantee that usage limits are never exceeded during concurrent traffic spikes:

validate → calculate (no mutation) → increment_usage (reserve)
   → charge payment gateway
      → success: record_usage (commit)
      → failure: decrement_usage (rollback)

Free order handling: When a 100% off coupon reduces the total to $0.00, GatewayKit marks the transaction completed instantly with reference FREE without contacting external payment gateways.

Recurring Stripe Subscriptions Pro

Turn any checkout form into an automated recurring subscription powered by Stripe Billing:

  1. Create a recurring Price ID in your Stripe Dashboard (e.g. price_1N...).
  2. In your form's payment settings, toggle Recurring Payment and paste the Stripe Price ID.
  3. Customer completes initial payment via Stripe Checkout. GatewayKit records initial and future renewal transactions automatically via webhooks.
  4. Manage active subscribers and cancellations directly under GatewayKit → Subscriptions.

Partial Payments & Deposits Pro

Charge only a percentage of the total amount upfront (e.g. 20% to 50% booking deposit):

  • Enable Partial Payment in your form settings.
  • Enter the Partial Payment Percentage (1–100%).
  • The customer is billed total × percentage, and the receipt highlights the deposit amount paid along with the remaining balance due.

Outgoing Webhooks: Zapier, Make & n8n Pro

Trigger external automations immediately when payments complete or fail:

  1. Navigate to GatewayKit → Settings → Outgoing Webhooks.
  2. Paste one or more Webhook URLs (one per line).
  3. Select trigger events: Payment Completed and Payment Failed.
  4. Set a Secret Key to enable HMAC-SHA256 signature verification via the X-GatewayKit-Signature HTTP header.
  5. Click Send Test to dispatch a sample payload.

Webhook JSON Payload Example

{
  "event": "payment_completed",
  "transaction_id": 123,
  "status": "completed",
  "amount": 49.99,
  "currency": "USD",
  "gateway": "stripe",
  "description": "Order #1001",

  "customer": {
    "email": "[email protected]",
    "name": "John Doe"
  }
}

Verifying Webhook Signatures in n8n

Add a Code node in your n8n workflow to verify the cryptographic HMAC signature:

const crypto = require('crypto');
const secret = $input.first().json.secret;
const signature = $input.first().json.signature;
const body = $input.first().json.body;
const expected = crypto.createHmac('sha256', secret).update(body).digest('hex');

if (signature !== expected) {
  throw new Error('Invalid webhook signature');
}

Analytics Dashboard & Refunds Pro

  • Visual Analytics: Review revenue charts, gateway breakdown percentages, conversion rates, and top-converting forms under GatewayKit → Analytics.
  • One-Click Refunds: Issue full or partial refunds directly from the WordPress admin for Stripe and PayPal transactions without opening external merchant dashboards.
  • CSV Export: Bulk-download filtered transaction records with custom date ranges for bookkeeping and tax accounting.

White-Label Branding Pro

Under GatewayKit → Settings → White Label, rename the plugin name, menu label, and description across the WordPress admin dashboard to maintain seamless agency client branding.
